Travel News Asia 11 November 2003

The Dubai World Trade Centre has won the award for the Best Conference Centre in the Middle East at the World Travel Awards that took place at the ongoing World Travel Market in London (10th to 13th November).

"This award underlines our commitment to the conference and convention business and marks a highpoint for the Dubai World Trade Centre and the Dubai International Convention Centre and our team who have worked hard to ensure that we win such accolades on an international platform such as the World Travel Market," said DWTC Director General, Mubarak bin Fahad.

Mr. bin Fahad noted that the award comes close on the heels of a series of successful events hosted and organized by the DWTC that have included major meetings as well as conferences and seminars alongside leading exhibitions.

"Our top class international venue combined with our consistency in delivering high levels of service ensures that we stay ahead of the regional competition as we make strides to capture a greater share of the international MICE business," Mr. bin Fahad remarked.

Receiving the award from HE Noel Lynch, Minister of Tourism and Transport of Barbados, Mr. bin Fahad said, "We are delighted at winning such an esteemed award as this represents the views of our fellow professionals from the global industry who have voted us for the coveted honor and I can assure you that we will continue to effectively make our presence felt on the international MICE scene through our professionalism and top class service approach to the business."
