Six Senses Spa introduces Meditation Classes and Tibetan Reiki Healing

Travel News Asia 10 March 2003

The Six Senses Spa at Evason Hua Hin has introduced Meditation Classes and Tibetan Reiki Healing with Derrick ‘Asaf’ Gooch, every Saturday and Sunday.

Derrick conducts private sessions for individuals, friends and families, plus Recharging Exercises and Pranayama Kriya Yoga classes. He also conducts Corporate and Group Meditation Retreats that range from 3  nights/4 days, to 6 nights/7days.

Derrick joins the Six Senses Spa at Evason Hua Hin Resort after devoting many years to spiritual practice. For the past year he has meditated for two to three hours per day in Thai temples before receiving the spiritual guidance to help others in their individual meditation.

He was inspired in Thailand to write a book entitled “A Beginning Journey in Meditation” – a spiritual self-help book written from a westerner’s perspective and encouraging the reader to begin their practice of meditation.  Having been introduced to many faiths, he teaches that “eventually all paths lead to the same destination in the silence” and in regard to Yoga, this is a scientific technique to discover one’s personal belief to a greater degree.

Derrick is a Reiki Master trained in both Prema Prana and Usui tradition. Reiki Healing is credited with effectively treating ailments including headaches, backaches, depression and chakra cleansing. It is also effective for recharging the body and for deep relaxation. It is an alternative and  complimentary treatment that is non-invasive and seeks to replenish the energy within.
