Philippines' Bureau of Immigration has relaxed the
visa requirements for foreigners and urged those still in the
country to stay at home while the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ)
is being implemented.
“We have eased immigration requirements for foreigners who
remain in Philippines during the ECQ,” said Bureau of Immigration
Commissioner, Jaime Morente. “Aliens
anywhere in Philippines whose visas will expire during the
period, shall not be charged penalties as long as they file their
applications within 30 days from the lifting of the ECQ.”
However, applications filed
after the lapse of thirty days from the lifting of the ECQ and
foreigners whose visas expired prior to the declaration of the ECQ
are not exempt from penalties.
