Thai Airways Unveils Plan to Launch Phuket
Charter Flights
|
Thai Airways today announced that it is planning
to operate
charter flights to Phuket from six destinations: Denmark, England,
Germany, Hong Kong, Japan and Korea.
The Thai flag carrier also plans to fly
tourists from select destinations in the People’s Republic of China to Phuket.
Mr. Chansin Treenuchagron, Thai Airways' Acting President,
said the airline is hoping to launch the routes with two flights
per month, with plans to increase frequency if there is sufficient
demand, from around late-November 2020.
Thai Airways has implemented a number of safety
measures to protect staff and passengers from COVID19.
Physical distancing is applied to every aspect of service,
including: check-in, passenger boarding, seat arrangement,
inflight box meals to avoid physical contact, and disembarkation.
Passengers are required to wear a face mask at the
airport and during the flight and cabin crew must wear protective suits, medical
masks, and gloves while providing services and observe passengers
for possible symptoms.
Several hotels such as the
Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas
have already been approved for Alternative State Quarantine (ASQ) by the Public Health
and Defense Ministries.
More on this to come.
