Air New Zealand to Launch Invercargill -
Auckland Flights on 25 August
|
Air New Zealand will launch the first ever
direct scheduled flights between Invercargill and Auckland at the
end of August 2019.
Tickets for the Invercargill-Auckland service
are now available on the airline's website with the lead in fare
starting from $83 one way.
The airline will operate the direct flight five
times per week using Airbus A320 aircraft.
Air New Zealand Head of Regional Affairs Reuben
Levermore says the airline is delighted to get the trial service
up and running with the first flight between Auckland and
Invercargill scheduled for 25 August.
"We're committed to
supporting the Southland region and we hope the added convenience
and great lead in fare on offer will encourage people to get
behind this new direct service," Reuben said.
With a flight time of
approximately two hours, the new Invercargill-Auckland service
will be the longest domestic Air New Zealand flight.
