Airbus Inaugurates Innovation Centre in China

Airbus has inaugurated a new Innovation Centre in China at an official opening ceremony in Shenzhen, China, one of the world’s leading innovation hotspots.

The Airbus China Innovation Centre (ACIC) focuses on designing, testing, and certifying new technologies relating to five areas: Hardware Lab, Cabin Experience, Connectivity, Manufacturing Innovation and Urban Air Mobility (UAM).

Airbus also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Shenzhen Municipal Commerce Bureau for close collaboration, acceleration, application and industrialization of UAM. As Airbus’ first disruptive innovation centre in Asia, and second worldwide after A3 in Silicon Valley, ACIC’s mission is to fully leverage local advantages including talent, enterprises and the ecosystem, to combine it with Airbus’ aerospace expertise to identify, explore and accelerate breakthroughs in technologies, business models and new growth opportunities.
