American Airlines Aims to Resume Boeing 737 MAX
Flights on 5 March 2020
|
American Airlines has announced that, based on
the latest guidance, it will resume scheduled commercial service
of its fleet of Boeing 737 MAX aircraft on 5 March 2020.
Once the aircraft has been certified, American
says it will operate exhibition flights, or flights for American
team members and invited guests only, prior to 5 March.
American then expects to gradually phase in the
MAX for commercial service and will increase flying on the
aircraft throughout the month of March.
Since American will gradually phase the
MAX into operation over the course of a month, additional
refinements to its schedule is likely, and the airline has
indicated that affected customers will be contacted directly.
American Airlines has said that details of what
options will be available if customers do not wish to fly on the
MAX once it resumes scheduled service on 5 March will be released
in the coming weeks.
