Making a Difference: Korean Air Donates US$50,000 to Support Sulawesi Relief Efforts
|
Korean Air has donated US$50,000 to support the relief
efforts for victims of the earthquake and tsunami that recently
hit Palu, Sulawesi Island, Indonesia, through Indonesian Red Cross
and Red Crescent
Society.
The city of Palu suffered massive property
damage and a large number of casualties due to the serious
earthquake and tsunami in September. Korean Air’s donation will be
used to provide relief products and assist with rebuilding efforts
for the local earthquake victims.
“We hope our
donation helps Palu make a swift recovery from the devastating
earthquake and tsunami,” said a spokesperson from Korean Air.
Korean Air has been fulfilling its corporate social
responsibility by utilizing its network as a global carrier to
deliver relief supplies to disaster-struck sites, such as the dam
collapse in Laos (2018), flood in Peru (2017), cyclone in Fiji
(2016), Kumamoto earthquakes (2016), flood in Myanmar (2015), and
other disasters around the world.
