Showcase Ansat and Mi-171A2; KL Next
Russian Helicopters, part of Rostec State Corporation,
showcased two of its newest civilian
helicopters, the Ansat and Mi-171A2, to potential customers in Thailand
The event, part of Russian Helicopter's South Asian Heli Tour, took place at U-Tapao Airport near Pattaya.
Helicopters treated the VIPs and select media in attendance to a
special flight display and a detailed presentation highlighting
the key benefits that the Mi-171A2 and Ansat helicopters offer.
“Russian Helicopters is striving to reinforce business relations
with commercial and state customers in Thailand. The first
deliveries of our Ka-32A11BC helicopters to the Kingdom are scheduled
by the end of the year, and potential operators have also shown
interest in the Ansat and Mi-8/17 rotorcraft in various modifications,
which is why we believe that showcasing our helicopters here is perfectly
timed,” said Andrey Boginskiy, Director General of Russian
Helicopters Holding Company.
After participating in the Zhuhai Airshow in
China from 6-11 November, Russian Helicopters visited Hanoi on 16
November and Phnom Penh on 20 November. The next leg of the tour
will take the company to Kuala Lumpur where they will showcase the
two helicopters at a special event at the Sepang F1 International
Circuit near Kuala Lumpur on 3 December 2018.
Anatoly Serdyukov, Industrial Director of the Aviation
Cluster of Rostec, said, “Events such as this demonstration tour are aimed
at not only at showcasing
the benefits of our helicopters, but also at strengthening our
relations with key partners in the region.”
Thailand has been a valuable market of Russian
Helicopters for many years, with a number of Mi-17V-5 medium
utility helicopters already operating in the Kingdom.
The company also has plans to establish a MRO centre in
Thailand. The centre will perform all types of scheduled maintenance and repair works,
troubleshooting and replacement of components.
