The Four Seasons Hotel Kuwait at Burj Alshaya is
now using only 100%
cage-free eggs for all menu items at its F&B outlets and
across banqueting operations.
The French breed chickens that
produce eggs for the hotel’s local food supplier are reared in a modern cage-free system
and raised from day one on natural Dutch feed.
The hotel’s move is inspired by the recent commitment of Four Seasons
Hotels and Resorts to source 100% cage-free eggs – both shell and
liquid – for all of its hotel and resort operations throughout the
United States, Canada and Europe by year-end 2019.
The
company’s initiative is being carried out with encouragement from
The Humane League, a non-profit animal welfare advocacy group
committed to improving the lives farm animals. Ultimately, the
goal is to source only cage-free eggs across Four Seasons global
portfolio of more than 100 hotels and resorts – and counting – by
2025.
Sebastiano Spriveri,
Executive Chef at Four Seasons Hotel Kuwait at Burj Alshaya, said, “We
have an active list of all hotels that are already compliant in
EMEA, and we’re working with the rest to get us to 100% compliance in the region. This is a globally approved initiative,
and I’m really glad that our property has stepped up to be a part
of it for the benefit of animals and our guests.”
