The interview took place on the morning of 24 September, just a few hours before the inaugural PHIST (Phuket Hotels for Islands Sustaining Tourism) forum took place in the hotel's ballroom.

In the interview, Mr. Matthias tells us about the very new initiative the resort has just launched to do away with the complimentary plastic water bottles that used to be placed in the rooms and replace them with refillable water bottles.

He tells us how that has been received by guests, whether there is a choice between still and sparkling and what they now do about the fact that guests can no longer take their free water to the pool area.

We also talk about paper bills, solar power and many other things in the video and podcast below.
