from the Philippines Department of Tourism (DOT) showed visitor
arrivals reached 5.47 million from January to October 2017, up
11.54% on the same period in 2016. As the country is
expected to host more prestigious events such as the search for
the world’s strongest man and the Ironman challenge with improved
infrastructure development, visitor arrivals should exceed its 6.5
million arrivals target for 2018.
Pasig City has a
number of historical spots. These include houses that were built
during the 1880s such as the Bahay na Tisa, an antique house made
of adobe and capiz shells, and also the Guanio Residence, also
known as the Cuartel del Guardia Civil. Its business district, Ortigas Center boasts one of the finest shopping and food
districts such as the well-known Kapitolyo, which features one of
the best hole-in-the-wall restaurants in the metro.
