Bassaka Air Appoints GSA in Malaysia; Airline to Launch PNH - KUL Flights in January

Bassaka Air, a passenger airline with its main hub located in Phnom Penh, Cambodia has appointed Aviareps as its General Sales Agent in Malaysia, effective 13 November 2017.

Aviareps will act as General Sales Agent for Bassaka Air in the Malaysian market, responsible for the airline’s sales, marketing, reservation and ticketing activities.

Bassaka Air will launch daily Airbus A320 flights between Phnom Penh and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 31 January 2018.

Flight 5B 601 will depart Phnom Penh (PNH) at 07:20 and arrive in Kuala Lumpur (KUL) at 10:10. The return flight, 5B 602, will depart Kuala Lumpur at 11:10 and is scheduled to land in Phnom Penh at 12:00.

Mark Thibault, Chief Executive Officer, Bassaka Air, said, “We are excited about this new appointment, as having representation in Malaysia is reflective of our efforts to further cultivate the demand of this market. We are confident with Aviareps as our strategic partner, we will be able to achieve this goal.”

Wilson Tay, Executive Director, Aviareps, added, “Given Malaysia’s strategic location in Southeast Asia, we are pleased to be the first Southeast Asian expansion destination of Bassaka Air outside its hub in Cambodia. With a growing interest for tourism and business travel to Cambodia, we’re confident that this new route will contribute immensely to Bassaka Air’s growth in the region.”
