British Airways Appoints Noella Ferns as Executive Vice President - Greater China

British Airways has appointed Noella Ferns, currently Regional General Manager - Greater China and Philippines, as Executive Vice President for Greater China, effective 1 January 2018.

Noella’s new role will include representing British Airways, Iberia Airlines and their parent company, International Airlines Group, in Greater China.

Stephen Humphreys, British Airways’ head of global sales, said, “This appointment reflects the importance of this market for British Airways and marks the airline’s continuous investment in the region. Ferns has done a stellar job generating business and driving sales with her team in one of British Airways’ longest serving markets - Hong Kong. She brings with her a wealth of experience in sales and management, and has a strong record of fostering relationships with customers and partners across the region. I have every confidence she will bring that same energy, inspiration and enthusiasm to further develop our presence in Greater China.”

Noella has over 20 years’ experience at British Airways across senior management, sales and airport operations in Asia Pacific and more recently Greater China and Australia. Results-driven and solutions-oriented, she brings to the team a notable track record of revenue and yield expansion, implementation of wider strategy, and team coaching. Noella will be based in Beijing, China.

“British Airways has created a lot of success stories since it first operated in mainland China more than 35 years ago. I am delighted to be joining the team in mainland China to keep the momentum going, to be serving our customers and to create more success for the airline for years to come,” Noella said.

For the last two years, Noella has been leading the sales teams in Hong Kong, Philippines and Taiwan to drive growth in corporate accounts, trade partnerships and new business, while also overseeing the airline’s channel shift strategy.

Prior to that she was based in Sydney, Australia for four years as the airline’s airport manager before moving into the role of commercial manager.
