HFTP to Hold Digital Learning Day in March

Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP) is to hold a full day of digital education programming for its members and anyone interested in participating free of charge.

The Digital Learning Day will take place on 23 March 2016 from 10:30-16:15 CST and cover topics relevant to the hospitality industry at large.

“On March 23, hospitality professionals from around the world will be able to participate in HFTP’s first Digital Learning Day and gain valuable knowledge in many facets of the industry,” said HFTP CEO Frank Wolfe, CAE. “The Digital Learning Day is a direct reflection of HFTP’s core ideology to provide a forum for continuous learning and knowledge sharing.”

The Digital Learning Day will feature four topics presented by industry experts. The day will progress as follows:

“Business Ethics: Friend or Foe? Help or a Hindrance? Important for Success?” — Phillip E. Flora, CIA, CISA, CFE, CCSA, principal and managing member of FloBiz & Associates, LLC will discuss real life examples of ethical dilemmas and methods to measure an organization’s ethical culture.

“Hotel Technology and Cybersecurity: Do's and Don'ts for Hotels and Guests” — Agnes DeFranco, Ed.D., CHAE and Cristian Morosan, Ph.D. of the Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel & Restaurant Management at the University of Houston explore the implications of hotel guest technologies.

“Active Shooters: New Trends and New Solutions” — Timothy A. Dimoff, founder and president of SACS Consulting & Investigative Services Inc., will explain new strategies such as environmental design, technology, communication, law enforcement response and informative action as the new procedures to increase the odds of survival for those under attack.

“LinkedIn: How to and How NOT to Utilize” — Danny Goldberg, CPA, CIA, CISA, founder of GoldRSD, will discuss the importance of the most prominent professional social networking site.

All sessions presented as part of HFTP’s Digital Learning Day are eligible for continuing education credit and are free of charge to all who register.
