Hong Kong Airlines has signed a codeshare agreement with Royal Brunei Airlines, the national flag carrier of Brunei Darussalam.

Under the agreement, Hong Kong Airlines’ HX code will be placed on Royal Brunei daily flights between Hong Kong and Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital and largest city of the Sultanate of Brunei.

Royal Brunei will place its BI code on Hong Kong Airlines’ daily flights between Hong Kong and onwards to Tokyo, Japan.

Mr Li Dianchun, Chief Commercial Officer of Hong Kong Airlines said, “The commencement of our codeshare partnership with Royal Brunei Airlines is great news for passengers of both airlines. Our passengers now have a new choice to travel between Hong Kong and Bandar Seri Begawan, a city with beautiful culture. Meanwhile, customers of Royal Brunei Airlines will enjoy the enhanced connectivity via the international aviation hub Hong Kong to Tokyo by flying with Hong Kong Airlines. We feel excited to provide Hong Kong’s quality service to them on our flights.”

Flight tickets between Hong Kong and Bandar Seri Begawan under the codeshare agreement can be purchased via travel agents or through both Hong Kong Airlines’ and Royal Brunei Airlines’ sales offices and call centres from 8 September 2016 onwards.

The sales of flight tickets to Japan via Hong Kong from Bandar Seri Begawan will commence in November.
