Rosewood Appoints Vice President of Development for Middle East and China

Rosewood Hotel Group has appointed Mr. Hicham Hassouni as Vice President Development - Middle East, and Mr. Robby Qiu as Vice President Development - China.

Mr. Hassouni, stationed in Dubai, and Mr. Qiu in the Shanghai office, are tasked to further expand the groups footprint in their regions by securing new properties for the companys three distinct brands: Rosewood, New World and pentahotels.

Mr. Hassouni has over 15 years experience in hotel development in key Middle East markets among which eight years were spent in Dubai in senior positions including vice president of development, Middle East & Africa at Fairmont Raffles Hotels International; senior director of development, Middle East at AccorHotels Group and vice president of hotels, Middle East & Africa at Jones Lang LaSalle. Previously, he was senior manager and member of the executive committee at Colliers International in Morocco, establishing the companys real estate and hospitality advisory business unit. He began his career as financial auditor with KPMG in France after graduating from NEOMA Business School with a masters degree in management.

Mr. Qiu brings 12 years of experience in hotel development, asset management, feasibility studies and legal services to Rosewood Hotel Group, with three years working for Trump Hotel Collection as chief country executive and vice president development and acquisition in mainland China. Previously, he was with AccorHotels Group for seven years with his last position held as senior director of development for Greater China. Mr. Qiu began his career with Blake Dawson Waldron International Law Firm in Australia after acquiring a masters degree in contract law and company law at the University of Manchester, U.K.
