MHG Rebrands Hotel in Khon Kaen, Thailand

Minor Hotels Group has expanded its Avani brand to the north eastern city of Khon Kaen in Thailand.

The hotel, which has previously operated under both Sofitel and Centara brands, was today rebranded as the Avani Khon Kaen Hotel & Convention Centre.

Situated in the heart of Khon Kaen, the Avani’s 196 guest rooms have been divided into five different room categories to offer a range of accommodation options to guests.

The hotel features a variety of F&B outlets, a large outdoor pool, fitness centre, spa and 4,000 square metres of dedicated meeting facilities.

“We are thrilled to announce the expansion of our operations across Thailand with the launch of Avani Khon Kaen Hotel & Conference Centre,” said Thomas B. Meier, Senior Vice President of Operations (Asia). “With a commitment to offering excellent service standards and facilities along with the acquisition of the region’s largest and best equipped conference facilities, we are confident that Avani Khon Kaen will become the hotel of choice for travellers to Northeastern Thailand.”

Khon Kaen, home to one of the most important universities in Thailand, is a charming city and a delight to visit, as is most of Issan.

Guests will be able to visit the nearby Dino Park, the largest water slides in Southeast Asia; further explore dinosaur fossils at Phu Wiang Dinosaur Museum; be mesmerised by the hypnotic dance of the spitting cobras in Baan Kok Sanga Village, or simply check in for some retail therapy at Khon Kaen’s major shopping centre close by.

Flights to Khon Kaen Airport are available from Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Hat Yai, while the transfer from the airport to the hotel takes just 15 minutes and the whole city is easily accessible from the hotel’s central location.
