Thrifty Car Rental Opens in Thailand; Unveils Expansion Plans

Thrifty Car Rental, part of Hertz Global Holdings, has expanded its global footprint to Thailand. Thrifty is now open for business in Bangkok Downtown (Sathorn Road) and Pattaya Downtown (North Pattaya Road).

A further seven additional airport locations are planned for 2016.

The Thrifty brand has launched in Thailand following an extended agreement between Hertz and its franchise partner Paragon Car Rental which has been operating Hertz in the country since 1993.

Future planned openings for 2016 include the international airports Suvarnabhumi (Bangkok), Don Mueang (Bangkok), Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phuket and Samui as well as Khon Kaen Airport.

Michel Taride, Group President, Hertz International, said, “It is truly exciting for us to see Thrifty’s expansion to Thailand. Already a much sought-after destination by millions of international travelers every year, the addition of low-cost airline routes to Thailand is expected to drive even further growth potential for the Thrifty brand. With its high standard of service, our longstanding franchise partner Paragon Car Rental Co., Ltd. is ideally positioned to serve not only international visitors, but also domestic customers seeking convenience, value and service.”

Thrifty Thailand’s fleet of vehicles ranges from compact to full-size cars and vans.
