ATR Appoints Alessandro Amendola as Senior Vice President Engineering

ATR has been appointed Alessandro Amendola as Senior Vice President Engineering.

Alessandro will be responsible for all the engineering activities related to the fields of certification and airworthiness, customization, systems and propulsion, structures, flight tests, flight technologies, support, and quality, processes and methods.

He will also closely work with the Programs directorate, providing engineering support and solutions in the definition of new aircraft developments.

Alessandro will report to ATR's Chief Executive Officer Patrick de Castelbajac, and will sit on the Executive Committee. He replaces Carmine Orsi, which mandate expired at the end of 2015.

Alessandro Amendola

Alessandro started his career in Magnaghi Aeronautica in 1980 as responsible of after-sales assistance and maintenance. He then joined Aeritalia, where he stayed until 1994. That year he moved to CIRA (Italian Aerospace Research Center) as Aeronautics program Director. He transferred back to Alenia (formerly Aeritalia) where he held various managerial positions in the CTO (Chief Technology Officer) and in the Marketing & Business Development directorates, such as Head of New Projects, of Surveillance Systems and of the CleanSky programme. His last position before joining ATR was Chief Engineering of Next Generation Turboprop (NGTP).

Alessandro is graduated as Aeronautical Engineer from the Federico II University of Naples (Italy).
