Bangkok-Based Khiri Group Rebrands as Yaana Ventures

The Bangkok-based Khiri Group has rebranded as Yaana Ventures.

CEO Willem Niemeijer said that Yaana Ventures comprises a dynamic mix of new and established travel brands.

Khiri Travel, the DMC founded by Niemeijer in 1993 will remain unchanged in brand and focus at the centre of Yaana Ventures, with Richard Brouwer as Khiri CEO.

New ventures such as Ground (educational travel for young people and corporates), Anurak Community Lodge (a new eco-resort in Khao Sok, southern Thailand), and Banteay Chhmar tented camp in Cambodia, will all join Khiri Travel as part of Yaana Ventures.

Announcing the rebrand, Niemeijer said, “All Yaana Ventures share the same people-planet-profit commitment. Yaana will empower its entrepreneurs with the freedom to innovate, while providing background leadership and resources for them to thrive.Three decades of experience in the industry make us ideal partners for like-minded ventures.”

Niemeijer said that all the brands under the Yaana umbrella would share the same cultural traits, which he described as, “real experiences, impassioned discovery, a human touch, and empowered ownership”.

The name “Yaana” derives from the Sanskrit name for “journey”.

Yaana Ventures CFO, Mark Remijan, said, “Yaana welcomes investors and individuals who share a unique passion for travel, and are seeking a dedicated partner that brings their venture to life in a meaningful, efficient, and sustainable manner.”
