AirAsia to Launch Hat Yai - Chiang Rai and Hat Yai - Johor Bahru Flights

AirAsia will launch direct daily flights between Hat Yai and Chiang Rai as well as from Hat Yai to Johor Bahru in Malaysia, starting from 1 April 2016.

AirAsia launched its first flight out of Hat Yai 12 years ago and today operates a variety of routes that include; Hat Yai to Bangkok 8 flights a day, Hat Yai to Chiang Mai 2 flights a day, Hat Yai to U-Tapao (Pattaya) 4 flights a week and an AirAsia Malaysia (AK) flight from Hat Yai to Kuala Lumpur 10 times per week. All of the routes have seen steady growth, which gives the airline an incentive to add even more connectivity. We are confident the new flights will be as well received as their predecessors as Hat Yai is a one-of-a-kind city for both tourism and investment said Mr. Tassapon Bijleveld, CEO of Thai AirAsia.

Chiang Rai is a popular tourist destination due to its cool weather and its natural and cultural attractions. Popular sites in the province include Doi Tung Royal Villa, Mae Fah Luang Gardens, Rong Kun Temple and Chee Fah Mountain. Chiang Rai also serves as a bridge from Thailand to Myanmar and Lao PDR and is the northern regions biggest markets for border trade.

Johor Bahru is home to many attractions such as Lego Land and Kitty Town. The city also boasts distinct architectural landmarks that combine Malay, Chinese and Indian influences. With a premium shopping outlet to top it all off, Johor Bahru is a diverse destination with much to discover.
