A museum hotel in the Philippines has joined Worldhotels.

The recently opened Hotel Luna, located in the heart of the Heritage Village in Vigan City, listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, occupies a residence built in 1882 by the affluent Don Jose Florentino as a wedding gift to his daughter.

Now completely restored, the hotel is a blend of colonial artistry and contemporary style. Stone staircases, opera balconies, a glass lift shaft and a resplendent 20-foot mural, along with some of the most exclusively curated artworks, complement the unique experience this heritage hotel affords.

Hotel Luna’s 53 guest rooms and suites are elegantly-styled with elements of intricate Filipino handcrafted detailing on wall and ceiling borders.

All accommodations come with a balcony and are equipped with a digital entertainment system, Wi-Fi, and HL Grand Bed with pillow-top mattress.

A collection of master pieces by some of the foremost artists of the Philippines populates the halls just outside the rooms as well as the hotel's Grand Sala on the second floor that serves as the main art gallery.

Featured artists include Fernando Amorsolo, Benedicto Cabrera, Napolean Abueva, Vicente Manansala and Juan Luna (from whom the hotel name drew its inspiration).

A variety of F&B outlets are available to guests. Comedor restaurant focuses on Filipino-Spanish cuisine. The restaurant's walls still retain their original gleaming yellow bricks from the 1800s, while newer decorations encompass 11 classic chandeliers of Swarovski crystals, paintings by leading Filipino artists and the calming sounds of waterfalls gurgling into the hotel pool right outside.

Chula Saloon Bar, named after a famous set of paintings by Juan Luna, is an intimate chillout lounge where guests can enjoy innovative mixology, fine wines and liquors.

Occupying the hotel’s expansive rooftop is Azotea where up to 300 guests can sip excellent cocktails while taking in views of the city's colonial architecture, matched with minimalist but comfortable lounge chairs and hip music for a memorable evening under the stars.

“We are very proud to build on the existing partnership with ArtStream Hospitality Management Group, Inc (AHMGI), the highly competent organisation that owns and manages Hotel Luna and Baguio City’s Le Monet, also an affiliate of Worldhotels,” said Roland Jegge, Worldhotels Executive Vice President Asia Pacific. “The induction of Hotel Luna continues to expand the diversity of our curated collection of top-notch hotels in the region, and Worldhotels’ integrated global distribution network and sales and marketing forces will propel Hotel Luna forward in setting the benchmark for hotels in the country.”
