Karin Nyman to Join SAS as Director of Communications

Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has appointed Karin Nyman as Director of Communications, effective March 2016.

Karin is currently the Marketing and Communications Director at health and social care company Ambea.

As Director of Communications, Karin will have responsibility for SAS’s general communications, both internal and external.

Karin has worked as a marketing and communications manager since 1997 at Ambea and its subsidiaries Vardaga and Nytida, as well as at Carema Sjukvård. Prior to that she was the marketing and communications manager at Citat and Sybase, among others.

Karin said, “SAS is in an interesting phase, with both great opportunities and major challenges. There is a public interest to build communication on and I am looking forward to taking the lead on this. I come from a company that has undergone a successful transformation in recent years and where communication has played a central role. I will be using that experience in my new role.”

Karin replaces Marta Tiberg who is moving on to new challenges outside of SAS.  She will report to SAS Executive Vice President, Chief of Staff, Carina Malmgren Heander.
