Best Western has opened its first hotel in Mandalay, Myanmar.

The company has taken over the management of the Hotel Shwe Pyi Thar and rebranded it as the Best Western Premier Hotel Shwe Pyi Thar.

At present, the hotel offers 91 rooms and suites ranging from 33m² Superior Rooms to the expansive 380m² Presidential Suite. A new wing is being constructed, with work expected to finish in Q4 2016, which will add 200 more rooms to the hotel.

“Mandalay is a city with a rich history and a bright future,” said Ron Pohl, Best Western International’s Senior Vice President of Brand Management. “We are delighted to be able to enter this exciting market with such an elite property. Hotel Shwe Pyi Thar has already developed an excellent reputation. The expansion work being planned, combined with the input of Best Western’s international standards of guest service, will usher in a new and exciting era for the hotel and the city.”

The Best Western Premier Hotel Shwe Pyi Thar features meeting facilities, a restaurant, bar, swimming pool, fitness center, spa services and boutique retail outlets.
