Tune Hotels Group has revealed details of its new company structure and strategy.

The first core function is Brand, Assets and Capital Markets which will be led by Mark Lankester as CEO.

Mark Lankester served as CEO of the Tune Hotels Group since it first started in 2007 in Downtown Kuala Lumpur and has since grown the brand to one of the fastest growing value hotel brands today in countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia, India and the United Kingdom.

With Mark at the helm, Tune Hotels, which first started out to compliment AirAsia travellers, has since grown with a milestone of over 7 million guests who have embraced the “pay-as-you-use” business model. Mark has successfully managed start-up companies to managing overall growth oriented businesses which led to him being awarded “Outstanding Entrepreneurship Award 2012” by the Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Awards for recognition of his best practices, past and current efforts and continued publicity.

Mark Lankester, said “Two of the things that I consider major milestones would be the simple fact that guests from around the world have embraced us and our business model and the entry of Tune Hotels to markets outside of our natural home in South East Asia. Our market entry into the United Kingdom has flourished nicely with 7 hotels in the last 5 years and the pipeline there is rapidly growing and our relatively new market entry into Australia is already reaping the rewards that we had originally set ourselves. Through the new organisational functions, it will give us the opportunity to focus on the key elements of our strategy of providing high quality value accommodation to all - more hotels and operational excellence of those hotels. Over the last several years we’ve always had the intention to be far more global and these new functional roles will enable this to come to fruition.”

The second core function is Development and Hotel Management which will be led by Frank Trampert as CEO.

Frank Trampert joined Tune Hotels as Chief Operating Officer in 2014. Frank started his hospitality career in Europe and has since lived and worked across four continents supporting some of the largest global hotel companies with their international expansion.

His diverse background in international franchise and hotel management ranges from limited service to luxury hotels which makes Frank a valuable asset to the Tune Hotels brand. With vast knowledge and experience in the hospitality industry, Frank has successfully managed and led a high performance team whilst building trusted partnerships.

Frank Trampert, CEO of Development and Hotel Management, Tune Hotels Group said, “Tune Hotels is the perfect lifestyle choice for the smart, value oriented traveller. Our guests love the simplicity of our business model and we are now making it even easier for them to engage with us and enjoy a comfortable stay. Through the Development and Hotel Management division, we will be able to emphasize the hotels core offerings and maximise performance towards achieving world class operational excellence. By making everything simple but yet functional, we aim to empower the overall consumer experience which in return will also benefit our partners globally.”

The new organisation core functions will allow Mark to focus on building the right business partnerships globally, including asset investments, capital markets involvement and growing the franchise globally, with Frank continuing to drive performance and operational excellence to further strengthen partnerships with operating hotels.

Both Mark and Frank will remain based at the Tune Hotels Group global headquarters in Kuala Lumpur and will report to the Board of Directors.
