Pandaw River Expeditions Upgrades Onboard Experience

Pandaw River Expeditions has unveiled a series of enhancements to its onboard product in Myanmar (also known as Burma), Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and China for 2016.

New for 2016 Pandaw has altered the configuration of the staterooms on the front section of the upper deck of the Pandaw 2 and the Mekong Pandaw to create new suites.

At over 360 square feet / 32 square metres they are the largest staterooms seen to date on a Pandaw vessel, and will feature a private balcony and a spacious lounge area with a sofa plus double or twin bed and private bathroom.

A range of enhanced in-room amenities include a minibar and Espresso machine, as well as a basket of fruit on arrival.

Guests booking a suite also benefit from complimentary house wine with lunch and dinner.

The suites will be available on departures aboard the Mekong Pandaw from July 2016 and from October 2016 on the Pandaw 2. Prices start from US$ 4,245 per person twin share in high season cruise only for a suite on the Mekong Pandaw’s 7-night Classic Mekong cruise.

Mountain Bikes

Guests wishing to make their own discoveries by bike can hire a Giant-branded mountain bike on any Pandaw owned ship in Myanmar and Indochina for the first time.

Available from December 2015, at each river stop, the Pandaw crew will advise guests on the best routes to follow and if required a member of the crew will accompany the guests on their cycle adventures.

Bikes onboard are bookable online for US$ 25 per bike per cruise.

Private Dining

Whilst dining onboard a Pandaw cruise is very much a convivial shared experience, there may be times when guests would prefer the privacy of a table for two. With this in mind, Pandaw has introduced the flexibility for passengers to book private at no extra cost, via its website.

Family Friendly Cruises

For the first time, a special programme of family friendly cruises has been devised on specific school holiday departures.

Departing on either 30 July 2016 or for Christmas on 24 December 2016 on the ‘Burma-Mandalay Pagan Packet’ itinerary, a seven-night cruise costs from US$ 1,535 per person, cruise only.

Alternatively, departing 6 August 2016 the 7-night ‘Classic Mekong’ itinerary costs from US$ 1,560 per person main deck twin share.

All these itineraries include a special programme of shore excursions, with ‘challenges’ to undertake and cycling tours of the local area as a family or with a group.

Meals have also been designed for children and teenagers in mind, and children can even have a go at cooking with an onboard cooking lesson and chill out with movie nights and other family friendly onboard activities.

Children aged under four years old travel free if sleeping in a cot and sharing a stateroom with two adults.

Children aged between 4 and 18 years sharing a stateroom with two adults receive a 50% reduction on the adult price.
