Traders Hotel Puteri Harbour, Johor has rebranded as Hotel Jen Puteri Harbour, Johor, becoming the tenth hotel to adopt the new Hotel Jen brand by Shangri-La International.

Puteri Harbour lies within Iskandar Malaysia, the southern development corridor in Johor identified as one of the key developments to spur the growth of the Malaysian economy.

“The rebrand to Hotel Jen will set new standards for guest experiences, which shows in the changing demands of today’s customers, both the new and ‘millennial’ mindset and the increasingly socially enabled ‘young-at-heart’ existing customer. It is a revolution and all about changing our approach, starting at the very heart of our hotel – our staff,”  said Mr. Sigi Bierbaumer, General Manager of Hotel Jen Puteri Harbour. “The first thing guests will notice as they enter the hotel is less-formal staff uniforms. An informed and friendly service style continues by allowing guests to discover the best of where they are through unique recommendations, from the theme park experiences and attractions to bars and restaurants in town. The Hotel Jen team will be a guest’s own personal local lifestyle guide, making them truly feel like they are staying with a friend.”

Hotel Jen Puteri Harbour, Johor is located in the special economic zone of Iskandar Malaysia, at the Puteri Harbour waterfront in the Nusajaya Zone. It is surrounded by the Johor New State Administration Centre, the medical hub and University Park.

The hotel is a 15-minute drive from the Malaysia-Singapore Second Link, one hour from Singapore Changi Airport and 35 minutes from Senai Airport.

Theme parks and attractions are a major draw for families and the young-at-heart. Legoland Malaysia is located within close proximity, while Sanrio Hello Kitty and The Little Big Club are at the hotel’s doorstep. Spanning over 60,000 square feet, the indoor theme park features world-renowned and popular children’s characters in three main areas: Hello Kitty Town showcasing Hello Kitty and friends by Sanrio; The Little Big Club featuring HIT Entertainment’s Thomas and Friends, Barney, Bob the Builder, Pingu and Angelina Ballerina; and a themed family restaurant by popular local cartoonist, Lat.

For an informative or cultural stay, a 10-minute walk from the hotel is Kota Iskandar, Johor state’s new administrative centre, where guests can watch parliamentary debates in the State Legislative Assembly Hall, which is infused with distinctive Moorish-Andalusian elements in its architecture and surrounded externally with waterscapes and lush gardens.

The Horizon Hills Golf & Country Club is a 15-minute drive from Hotel Jen Puteri Harbour, Johor. In the immediate township, 20 international-standard golf courses are readily accessible and feature full clubhouse facilities and courses designed by Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, Robert Trent Jones II and Peter Dalkeith Scott. Further afield is the Ponderosa Golf and Country Club. For guests seeking retail experiences, Johor Premium Outlets, Johor's finest outlet shopping, is a 20-minute drive from the hotel.

For a quick gateway, the Puteri Harbour International Ferry Terminal provides scheduled ferry trips to Tanjung Balai, Karimun in Indonesia and Singapore.
