Marriott Opens 311-Room Hotel in Zhuzhou, China

Marriott has expanded its portfolio of hotels in China with the opening of the 311-room Zhuzhou Marriott Hotel, in Hunan Province, South-central China.

Located adjacent to the Hunan provincial capital of Changsha, Zhuzhou is a port city on the Xiang River and a regional transportation hub. Zhuzhou Marriott Hotel is situated within the bustling commercial area around Midea Times Square at the heart of the Liyu Central Business District inside the city’s high-tech zone. Liyu Valley, a major tourism attraction, is next to the hotel. The hotel is a 10-minute drive from Zhuzhou West Railway Station and 40-minute drive from Changsha Huanghua International Airport.

Mr. Henry Lee, Chief Operations Officer – Greater China of Marriott International, said, “We are proud to open the company’s 80th Marriott International hotel across six brands in China and to bring the total number of properties in China under our flagship Marriott Hotels brand to 20. Our goal is to position Marriott International as the world’s favorite travel company in Asia Pacific. We achieve this by focusing on our customers and by continuing to innovate our products and services to meet the needs of Asia Pacific-bound travelers.”

The Zhuzhou Marriott Hotel offers 311 rooms and suites which range in size from the 46-square-meter King Room to the 277-square-meter Presidential Suite. Each guest room comes with modern amenities such as all-natural skincare products by the Thai brand Thann, complimentary coffee and tea, wireless internet and satellite and cable television.

Offering panoramic views of Zhuzhou city from the 24th floor, the Zhuzhou Marriott Hotel Executive Lounge provides a range of exclusive services to Marriott Rewards elite members and Executive Floor guests, including buffet breakfast, afternoon cocktails and all-day complimentary tea and pastries.

Dining options at Zhuzhou Marriott Hotel include the brand’s signature The Lobby, which provides guests and locals a place to relax, work and gather with a menu featuring cakes and coffee during the day and hors d'oeuvres during the evening. The Lobby is divided into different zones that each have unique ambience and style. Tea House is where to go to unwind with a good book or chat with friends while taking in great tea.

Man Ho restaurant offers traditional Cantonese cuisine with contemporary touches and has a luxurious interior decorated in richly warm colors with 17 private dining rooms.

Guests can watch skilled culinary craftsmen practicing their art in the open kitchens of Zhuzhou Kitchen, the hotel's all-day dining venue that offers an international buffet.

Providing a spicy counterpoint to the Chinese flavors at the hotel is Mint, a restaurant serving Thai and Southeast Asian dishes and cocktails in a chic setting with semi-open kitchen.

With a pillar-less Zhuzhou Ballroom which exceeds 1,000 square meters, Zhuzhou Marriott Hotel will become a top local venue choice for weddings and corporate and private events of all types. The Zhuzhou Ballroom can be divided into three smaller ballrooms, each 340 square meters in area, and there are also five smaller multi-function rooms that all come with cutting-edge lighting and audiovisual equipment. A 530-square-meter foyer bordering the ballroom and multi-function spaces provides a spacious setting for mingling and conversation before and after events.

Zhuzhou Marriott Hotel also has a well-equipped fitness center with sauna that is open 24 hours a day, a business center with computer workstations and high-speed internet, a spa and an indoor heated swimming pool.
