The Hong Kong Tennis Association (HKTA) and Prudential Hong Kong have entered into a strategic partnership designed to expand collaboration between the two organisations and reinforce their commitment to support local tennis development.

In addition to becoming title sponsor of the Hong Kong Tennis Open, a WTA International Series event, for the second consecutive year in 2015, Prudential will also be named as the exclusive Lead Partner of HKTA.

As Lead Partner of HKTA, Prudential will be the title sponsor of the Hong Kong National Tennis Championships and the HKTA Summer, Winter, Mixed and Junior Club Leagues as well as supporting the grassroots “Tennis Rocks” community tennis programme.

Tennis Rocks is a district-based development programme targeting kids from low-income families aged six to eight years. Currently 150 students in Tuen Mun, Yau Ma Tei and Kwun Tong have been admitted to the scheme and with Prudential’s support HKTA will expand the programme to other districts in Hong Kong.

Derek Yung, Chief Executive Officer of Prudential Hong Kong Limited said, “Promoting healthy and active lifestyle is a pillar of Prudential’s work in Hong Kong and our deepened partnership with HKTA supports this mission. Tennis is an exciting, classic sport that encourages both fitness and skill. By promoting it as a new option for millions of Hong Kong people, we hope to inspire people to pick up a racquet or take up a sport to lead a more healthy lifestyle.”
