Grand Expeditions with Silversea Cruises

Silversea Cruises has unveiled details of its upcoming Grand Expeditions.

Sailing from October 2015, Silversea has created five journeys each offering guests an unique experience from sea, to land, to sea again.

Ranging from 18 to 34 days, the Grand Expeditions will begin with an expedition cruise in the Galapágos Islands, before connecting to a land adventure, and finally ending with a further expedition cruise exploring the coast of Central America, South America, or Antarctica.

The all-inclusive Grand Expeditions package is orchestrated by Silversea and incorporates cruise fares for Silver Galapagos and Silver Explorer at 20% off the individual published rate. Also featured in the package are hotel accommodation, land tours, return air travel between Ecuador and the Galápagos Islands, intra-tour air travel and ground transportation, as well as charter flights to Ushuaia, if applicable.

Kristian Anderson, Silversea's senior vice president and general manager for the Americas, said, "Our Grand Expeditions offer a unique blend of overland adventure combined with two amazing expedition cruise experiences -- all expertly curated by our destination experts."

The Grand Expeditions are:

Latin American Delights / 18 Days / 1 October - 19 October

Silver Galapagos will explore the western Galápagos Islands, known for spectacular volcanic landscapes, penguin spotting, and snorkeling. Guests experience a post-cruise overnight stay in Guayaquil and then fly to Panama to embark Silver Explorer. Sailing from Colón to Guayaquil, guests will be able to witness wildlife, float up river in the Darien Jungle, and discover the beauty of Colombia's Pacific coast. (Combines expedition voyages 8537 and 7522.)

South American Sojourn / 25 Days / 8 October - 2 November

Genovesa Island's Great Darwin Bay, formed by a collapsed caldera, and Española Island's abundant wildlife highlight this north central itinerary of Silver Galapagos. A two-night, post-cruise stay in Guayaquil features an afternoon tour of the city before guests embark Silver Explorer. Voyaging from Guayaquil to Valparaiso, guests will be immersed in the unique cultures and landscapes of Peru and Chile. (Combines expedition voyages 8538 and 7523.)

Frigate birds, Ice Fields & Fjords / 23 Days / 22 October - 14 November

Genovesa Island's Great Darwin Bay also highlights this north central itinerary of Silver Galapagos. An overnight stay in Guayaquil, flight to Santiago, overnight hotel accommodation in the city, and an enriching wine tour combine to create the perfect interlude for guests prior to embarking Silver Explorer. Chile's breathtaking snow-capped mountains, lakes, and fjords are the focus of the concluding expedition, sailing from Valparaiso to Ushuaia. (Combines expedition voyages 8540 and 7524.)

Conquer S. America & Antarctica / 34 Days / 29 October - 2 December & Southernmost South America / 26 Days / 26 November - 22 December

Silver Galapagos will explore the western Galápagos Islands, known for spectacular volcanic landscapes, penguin spotting, and snorkeling. Guests then get to enjoy a seven-night land adventure, featuring excursions to Machu Picchu and Iguazu Falls, two of South America's most sought-after destinations, before embarking Silver Explorer in Ushuaia for an incredible journey to discover the marvels of Antarctica. (Expedition voyage combinations are 8541/7525 and 8545/7527.)
