Singapore Airlines Becomes Official Partner of 28th SEA Games

Singapore Airlines (SIA) has become the Official Airline Partner of the 28th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games which will be held in Singapore from 5 to 16 June 2015.

As the official airline SIA will sponsor complimentary Economy Class tickets to Singapore as prizes for promotional activities around the region.

Another key component of this engagement will be NILA’s Quest – a web-based digital game specially created for the 28th SEA Games that aims to engage the regional community. The grand prize will see a winning pair from each country fly to Singapore to enjoy the SEA Games.

SIA will also sponsor handheld fans which are included in the fun packs that will be distributed during the preview, opening and closing ceremonies, as well as SEA Games-themed Airbus A380 aircraft models.

Singapore Airlines cabin crew will also be participating in the opening and closing ceremonies.

We are especially honoured to support this milestone sporting event which will be held in Singapore after a 22-year hiatus, as we celebrate the country’s 50th birthday this year,” said Singapore Airlines Executive Vice President Commercial, Mr Mak Swee Wah.

Mr Toh Boon Yi, Chief, Community & Corporate Outreach, Singapore SEA Games Organising Committee (SINGSOC) said, “Singapore Airlines is a Singapore icon, and we are very pleased to work with a top-class partner for the 28th SEA Games. They have been involved in the local sporting scene and we hope that its support will set off more involvement from Corporate Singapore. We look forward to working with partners like Singapore Airlines to co-create this sporting experience for all.”

In addition to its sponsorship, SIA will offer special fares for officials who are travelling to Singapore for the games as well as publicity through its proprietary media channels reaching customers travelling worldwide throughout the airline’s network of 60 destinations in 33 countries.
