The XXII Peru Travel Mart (PTM) will be held from 15-17 May 2015.

The event will feature a business roundtable in which 130 Peruvian exhibitors and 140 international travel buyers will participate. This will be complemented by a series of seminars designed to deepen foreign tour operators’ knowledge of the many tourist destinations in the country and the activities they offer.

“Peru is one of the most fascinating destinations in South America and the world. A wide array of luxury services with the highest quality standards complement Peru’s rich historical legacy, making our country a product with great potential for international demand,” said the Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur), Magali Silva Velarde-Álvarez.

The training and new tourism products feature birdwatching, the Qhapaq Ñan route (recently recognized by UNESCO), rural community tourism, business tourism and gastronomy, helping to promote and strengthen these sectors in the international market.

Buyers from the United States, Russia, India, Italy, France, Bangladesh, Canada, Australia and New Zealand will all attend the Peru Travel Mart 2015, as will buyers from Panama, Argentina, Mexico, Ecuador, Bolivia, Chile and Colombia.

At the last PTM, the countries with the strongest participation were Brazil, Mexico, Ecuador and the United States, and the deals made totaled more than US$100 million, according to the National Chamber of Tourism (Canatur). An increase of 10% is expected for this year’s PTM.

“We are convinced that this event will help promote our image at the international level and increase the number of tourists that visit Peru, which in turn will benefit more Peruvians,” said Velarde-Álvarez.
