Luxair, the national airline of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, has signed a firm purchase agreement with Bombardier for three Q400 NextGen aircraft and options on an additional two Q400 NextGen aircraft.

Based on the list price of the Q400 NextGen aircraft, the firm order is valued at approximately US$100.3 million and could increase to US$169.5 million should Luxair exercise all its options.

“Our Q400 NextGen aircraft have proven to be a winning formula for us at Luxair as we continue to replenish our fleet with the newest, most modern turboprops that are providing maximum flexibility to our business clients; and quality travel at affordable prices to our leisure customers,” said Adrien Ney, President and Chief Executive Officer, Luxair. “The addition of more Q400 NextGen aircraft - with their excellent economics, environmental credentials and passenger comfort - is an ideal solution as we open more regional routes and expand frequencies.”

Optimized for short-haul operations, the Q400 NextGen  turboprop aircraft is capable of seating up to 86 passengers.
