Strand Cruise in Myanmar Appoints Director of Sales

The Strand Cruise, a new luxury river cruise operator in Myanmar (formerly Burma), has appointed seasoned hospitality professional, Jared Green, as Director of Sales.

At the same time, Green will also assume responsibility for sales for the Strand Hotel, Yangon.

“We are pleased to welcome Jared to the Strand Cruise team as we continue to strengthen our network of specialist luxury cruise agents and international wholesalers prior to our launch in January 2016,” said Jerome Seban, General Manager of the Strand Cruise. “Jared will be spending much of his time on the road, introducing our unique Strand Cruise and Strand Hotel experience to partners and direct consumers.”

Green joins the Strand management team from Song Saa Private Island in Cambodia, where he worked for the past four years, latterly heading up the resort’s sales team as Director of Sales.

Prior to Song Saa Private Island, Green held revenue management positions in the Middle East for the Jumeirah Group and Raffles Hotels & Resorts.

A native of Melbourne, Australia, Green began his 13-year hospitality career at Sails in the Desert, Ayers Rock Resort’s flagship property, and The Prince, a boutique hotel in Melbourne.

After two years working in Australia, Green relocated to London to gain international hospitality experience, working at Blakes, for two years before joining the Baglioni Hotel in Kensington as part of the private events team. He also worked for the pre-opening management team for the Haymarket Hotel, a Firmdale Hotels project that opened in 2006, where he was Reservations Manager.

Green will be based in Bangkok, Thailand.
