UNICEO Appoints President - Nordic and Baltic Region

The United Networks of International Corporate Event Organizers, an international association bringing together senior decision-makers in charge of corporate events representing blue chip companies, has appointed Björn Wigforss as President for the Nordic and the Baltic region.

Bjorn Wigforss has almost 20 years’ experience working for hi-tech companies including 10 years in events communication having spent 4 years as Global Events Director at Nokia and 2 years as Events Marcom Director at Microsoft.

He is also a frequent speaker in the event industry, the chairman of the Finnish Evento Awards jury and Vice President and Advisory Board Member of The European Best Events Awards (EuBEA).

"The Nordic Countries and the Baltics are of key importance for UNICEO development in Europe," said Debora Piovesan, Vice President for UNICEO International. "We were looking for a senior profile with extensive knowledge of the Nordic and Baltic countries; Bjorn has both qualities and we are pleased to benefit from his wide experience and leadership. We are confident he will manage UNICEO development in the region perfectly."

In this new role, Bjorn Wigforss will be responsible for the leadership and development of the association in the Nordic countries and the Baltics as well as being a Board Member of UNICEO International. He will combine this responsibility with his role at Microsoft.

"Working in events and live communication has become a huge passion of mine over the past 10 years," said Bjorn Wigforss. "I strongly believe that the professional development of members and of our industry can only happen when leaders get together in a trusting environment. It’s with this outlook that I will do my utmost to develop UNICEO in this dynamic region to allow each member to save time in their daily tasks, acquire new skills and help them and their organizations to become more successful."
