Alfred Paulsen Appointed GM of Dorsett Putrajaya

Alfred Paulsen, CHA, has been appointed as General Manager of the soon-to-open Dorsett Putrajaya, a midscale hotel located in the federal administrative capital of Putrajaya, Malaysia.

Alfred was most recently the General Manager of Dorsett Grand Labuan, a five-star hotel in the duty free haven of Labuan, Malaysia.

His association with Dorsett began in May 2008 when he joined Dorsett Grand Subang, Malaysia as Director of Food and Beverage. He was promoted as the hotel’s Director of Operations in September 2010.

With more than 28 years of hospitality experience, Alfred’s illustrative career included stints with a various renowned hotel chains in Malaysia such as Sheraton Subang Hotel & Towers, Star Cruises, TGI Friday's, Berjaya Best Western Langkawi, Sheraton Langkawi Beach Resort, Mutiara Beach Resort Langkawi, Penang Mutiara Beach Resort (Leading Hotels of the World), Pangkor Laut Resort and Pan Pacific Resort Pangkor.

Assistant Director of Catering Sales

Also new on board as part of the pre-opening team, is Santhy Mahalingam who has been appointed as Assistant Director of Catering Sales.

Santhy has over 20 years of working experience in the hospitality industry. Before joining Dorsett Putrajaya, she was the Assistant Director of Sales at Ibis Style Cheras. Prior to that, she worked at Pullman Putrajaya, Sheraton Subang, Sheraton Imperial, Grand Plaza Park Royal and Park Royal Kuala Lumpur; all located in Malaysia.

“With her strong background and extensive experience in the hotel industry, Santhy is definitely a great addition to the pre-opening management team of Dorsett Putrajaya, Malaysia. Reporting to the Director of Sales, she will focus on implementing and driving effective catering sales strategies for hotel and optimizing revenue in this segment,” said Alfred Paulsen.
