Easy Taxi, a leading taxi booking app, is planning to expand its operations in Thailand.

The app allows passengers to book taxis through their smart phones. Upon booking, a user automatically receives the name, photo and taxi registration number of the driver, as well as the approximate time that it will take for the taxi to reach the passenger. The customer can even follow the vehicle’s location in real-time.

Options like in-app payment, corporate accounts, favourite addresses, selection of service features, special discounts, passenger-driver messaging and ride history are also available according to location.

The company says that the app has been downloaded more than 500,000 times in Thailand, and it expects this figure to increase significantly as it expands.

“The Easy Taxi app allows people to travel better and work smarter. Even in our short pre-launch phase, we have built a loyal customer base and received positive feedback, as Bangkok users come to realize the speed and convenience of booking a taxi through a mobile phone app. Registered taxi drivers are also working more efficiently, as the app directs them only to nearby passengers and helps to pinpoint their pick-up locations using GPS,” said Felipe Kasinsky, CEO Easy Taxi Thailand.

Easy Taxi is now available in over 30 countries worldwide, including 9 countries in Asia: South Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Indonesia, India and Pakistan.

The Easy Taxi global app is available for iOS, Android, Windows Phone and BlackBerry devices.
