Hertz has launched the Green Traveller Collection in Singapore.

The Green Traveller Collection offers a range of fuel-efficient vehicles along with the ability for customers to reserve cars by make and model.

In an exclusive partnership with AutoFrance, distributor of Peugeot vehicles in Singapore, the Green Traveller Collection offers eco-friendly models that have a CO2 output of less than or equal to 140g/km, with more than half of the models at 110g/km or less – far exceeding the Neutral Band of the new Carbon Emissions-Based Vehicle Scheme (CEVS) set by the Land Transport Authority of Singapore.

Introductory models include the supermini Peugeot 208, the compact Peugeot 308 and the standard Peugeot 508; all powered by Euro V turbo-diesel engines.

“At Hertz, we are committed to providing smarter, more sustainable mobility solutions, which are also convenient and affordable for our customers. Being the only major car rental company to offer a dedicated fleet of reservable lower emission cars further demonstrates Hertz’s dedication to helping our customers save on fuel costs and reduced their travel carbon footprint,” said Eddie Ho, General Manager, Hertz Singapore. “Diesel engines have previously contained a negative connotation of loud engine clatter and black fumes. However, modern diesel technology such as Euro V and the upcoming Euro VI are so much cleaner and efficient as compared to its petrol equivalent.”

The reservable Green Traveller Collection vehicles will soon be joined by the luxury Prestige Collection and the spacious Family Collection vehicles, which can also be reserved by make and model at airport and downtown locations.

Wong Soon Hwa, Vice President, Hertz Asia & Japan said, “Sustainable business practices are extremely important to Hertz Corporation, and we’re proud to expand the Green Collection in Singapore. The fuel-efficient vehicle is the ideal rental solution for drivers concerned about the environment and high fuel prices, while also looking for style, comfort and uncompromised performance.”
