Prominent travel industry procurement advisor and corporate consultant Virginia Fitzpatrick has joined the Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG) to launch a new consulting division for the company.

Virginia will be heading up the new consulting business, which will provide advisory services and deliver value to corporate clients through professional consulting.

FCTG’s consulting division will further expand the professional services, products and travel management expertise currently offered by the group.

Well known within the business travel industry for bringing both innovation and insight to corporate travel programs, Virginia has worked as a specialist travel advisor for a raft of blue-chip Australian companies including Myer, Glencore, ANZ Bank, Santos, Westfield, National Australia Bank and Boral Ltd to name a few. She has also worked as a specialist travel and procurement advisor for State and Federal Government departments.

Having run her own consultancy company for more than a decade, Virginia has a track record of successfully re-engineering travel programs with procurement strategies for servicing contracts for travel management companies, travel technology products, airfares, accommodation, car hire and expense management.

These procurement strategies have had broad influence across Australia’s corporate travel industry and have lead to changes and improvements for public and private travel sector tendering.

Virginia said she was excited to be a part of the Flight Centre group and was looking forward to launching a unique concept in consulting for Australia’s travel industry.

“In accepting the challenge and opportunity that lies ahead of me, I’m excited by the prospect of introducing to the market a new concept in advisory services that leverages the resources of a global company as well as my own professional experience in consultancy,” Virginia said. “I have worked in the travel industry for a long time and I can say with confidence that what we’re proposing will deliver highly valuable insight and direction for businesses looking to boost their bottom line with innovative buying strategies and more competitive tendering.”

Virginia is based in Sydney.
