Wyndham Expands Portfolio in China

Wyndham has expanded its rapidly growing portfolio of hotels in China.

The openings of Wyndham Grand Xian South and Wyndham Kunming Resort, along with the anticipated opening of Wyndham Xuzhou East by the end of this year, adds to the 760 hotels and more than 86,200 rooms currently open in China under the Hotel Groups Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, Days Inn, Howard Johnson, Ramada and Super 8 brands.

From 1July 2013, through 30 June 2014, the company opened 240 properties throughout Asia Pacific, 211 of which were opened in China.

Leo Liu, Wyndham Hotel Groups managing director for China, said, The Wyndham Hotels and Resorts brand is an established international name with locations in major cities including New York, Chicago, Istanbul and Doha, as well as key destinations in Asia Pacific like Hangzhou, Qingdao, Gold Coast and Agra. Expanding its presence in China is a critical step in our companys strategy to provide more choices for travelers here.

The 585-room Wyndham Grand Xian South is located in Qujiang New District, a key tourist area close to Great Tang All Day Mall, Xi'an Qujiang International Conference & Exhibition Center, Dayan Pagoda, as well as shopping centers. It is also easily accessible to historic heritage sites such as the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor and Terracotta Warriors.

The hotel offers a number of dining experiences, including The Lounge, which features 30-meter-high windows, and an all-day dining restaurant with interactive show kitchens and live cooking stations.

Spacious function facilities spanning 5,000 square meters, including a grand ballroom and 11 breakout rooms, are available for meetings and private events.

This hotel is the first Wyndham Grand hotel in China managed by Wyndham Hotel Group.

The five-star Wyndham Kunming Resort caters to meetings, groups and family travelers and is located only a 30-minute drive from Kunming Changshui International Airport. The hotel offers 300 rooms and features a wide range of outdoor recreational facilities and activities including an 18-hole golf course, a jockey club and a wetland park. Guests can also immerse themselves in nature at the well-conserved Jia Lize Wetland nearby.

The upcoming Wyndham Xuzhou East will be situated at the Xuzhou economic development zone, a core business area for industrial and technology businesses, with more than 3,000 enterprises in the area. The 340-room hotel near picturesque Jinlong Lake will be convenient for business and leisure travelers, located just five minutes from the Xuzhou High-Speed Railway Station and 45 minutes drive from the airport.
