Etihad Airways Appoints Head of Corporate Affairs - Europe

Etihad Airways has appointed Eszter Ungar as Head of Corporate Affairs - Europe.

Ms Ungar joins the airline from Boeing where she held the position of Communications Director for EU/NATO, Northern Europe & Africa, based in Brussels.

Ms Ungar has also held posts at GE and Hill & Knowlton, where she managed several Fortune 500 clients.

Ms Ungar will be based at Etihad Airways’ European headquarters in Berlin where she will be responsible for building and managing the airline’s brand and reputation in Europe as well as supporting its engagement with European Union institutions.

“Etihad Airways is building a world class Corporate Affairs department with a core team in Abu Dhabi complemented by seasoned strategists located in key cities around the world including Sydney, Beijing, New York and now Berlin,” said Michael Venus, Etihad Airways’ Vice President Corporate Affairs. “Eszter’s European experience and expertise, developed in multinational corporations and highly competitive consultancies, means she’s ideally placed to effectively engage with stakeholders in Berlin, Brussels, and across the region.”

Etihad Airways has expanded significantly in Europe in recent years, now operating 214 existing or announced passenger flights a week between Abu Dhabi and 21 destinations in 16 European countries.

The airline continues to expand its codeshare partnerships with European airlines as well as investing in airberlin, Aer Lingus, Air Serbia, with regulatory approval pending for Darwin Airline, which will operate as Etihad Regional, and Alitalia.
