Executive Appointments at Onyx Hospitality

Thailand-based hospitality management company, Onyx, has made the following three appointments to its North Asia division, OZO Wesley Hong Kong and Shama Heda Hangzhou properties:

Mael Vastine Appointed General Manager of OZO Wesley Hong Kong

Holding a bachelor degree in international business and information technology as well as a master degree in management, Mael has worked for Accor since 2006.

Starting as a General Manager of three hotels under various Accor brands in London, he was then promoted to be Area General Manager of London. He moved to China in 2009 as General Manager of Ibis Beijing Sanyuan, followed by the position of Director Delegate to supervise 18 Ibis properties in Eastern China.

Prior to joining Onyx Hospitality Group, Mael was the Resident Manager of the Ibis Hong Kong Central and Sheung Wan Hotel.

Mael will lead the operations team of OZO Wesley and report to Simon Dell – Vice President of Operations of Onyx’s North Asia division.

Tony Li Appointed General Manager of Shama Heda Hangzhou

Tony has more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Before he was hired as General Manager of Shama Heda Hangzhou, he worked for Shangri-La Hangzhou, Sofitel Hangzhou, Sofitel Suzhou and Wyndham Grand Plaza Royale Hangzhou.

Christine Wong Appointed Director of Human Resources Onyx Hospitality Group (North Asia division)

A graduate of University of Nottingham and Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Christine joins Onyx with more than 20 years of experience in human resources management and training in the hotel industry.

Prior to joining Onyx, Christine worked for Sheraton Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Country Club, L’hotel Management Co. Ltd. and the Renaissance Kowloon.
