Tigerair to Launch Singapore - Jinan Flights

Tigerair Singapore is preparing to launch direct flights between Singapore and Jinan, capital of the Shandong province of China.

From 16 September 2014, Tigerair will fly direct from Singapore Changi Airport to Jinan every Tuesday, while the return flight from Jinan to Singapore will operate every Wednesday.

For cultural and historical buffs, Jinan is the cradle of the Longshan Relics Culture and one can find out more about the reputed prehistoric culture of China in Jinan. the city is well-known for its 72 famous springs that bubble up through the same limestone that forms nearby Tai Shan, a sacred Taoist mountain and major regional attraction. The city is also home to Shandong cuisine, one of the eight great culinary traditions of China.

Ho Yuen Sang, Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of Tigerair, said, “Jinan is another historical Chinese city that we’re pleased to be flying directly to from Singapore. Already an economic and cultural hub, Jinan will have a bigger role to play in Shandong's growth through further integration with its neighbouring cities, leading to a growing affluent population who might see Singapore as a preferred holiday destination. Its prosperous modern city surroundings aside, Jinan also possesses some 2,000 years of abundant historical relics, and visitors from Singapore and the region can take the opportunity to relax in the acclaimed city of springs.”

To celebrate the launch, Tigerair is offering special one-way fares of Sin$155 (including 15kg prepaid luggage allowance, a hot meal onboard, and tax from Singapore) for travel between September and October 2014.
