Delta Air Lines has introduced new sleep kits and several updated amenities for passengers seated in the Economy cabin on long-haul international flights, including Trans Pacific routes connecting Japan, China, Korea, Australia and mainland U.S., as well as Japan to Hawaii, Narita to Singapore, and Narita to Bangkok.

Starting this month, sleep kits are being offered to each customer by flight attendants. The kits include individual eyeshades plus earplugs to help customers rest better when travelling between continents.

In addition, customers in the Economy cabin will receive a full-size bottle of water following the meal service. The water bottle service has already started on ultra long-haul routes over 12 hours in flight time, and will be available on all long-haul Asia Pacific routes by the summer.

This summer, customers flying in domestic First Class as well as the Economy cabin on domestic and international flights will be offered newly upgraded earbuds that will be theirs to keep for use with Delta’s seatback entertainment systems.

“Delta continues to focus on making travel better by introducing amenities that our customers find both helpful and comforting when they travel,” said Joanne Smith, Delta’s senior vice president – In-flight Service. “Adding new items in Economy on international flights improves the quality of the product and helps our customers arrive at their destination rested, entertained and refreshed.”
