Conrad Bali has appointed Ranu Irawan as the resort's new Executive Chef.

Chef Irawan, a gold medal winner at the Terinex Masterchefs Grandprix Team in Hotelympia London 2012, was most recently with the InterContinental Hotel Muscat in Oman as Executive Sous Chef.

A native to the island, Chef Irawan travelled the world to work and hone his culinary skills for 17 years, before returning home to focus on taking Conrad Bali's dining experience to a new level, focusing on creative, healthy and locally sourced organic cuisine.

Prior to working in Oman, Chef Ranu spent 12 years overseas after leaving the Shangri-La in Jakarta, where he gained experience at various hotels including the Buddha Bar & Siddharta Lounge restaurant in Grosvernor House Hotel Dubai, The Yas Hotel in Abu Dhabi, Intercontinental Hotel Dubai, Jumeirah Emirates Towers and Hilton Jeddah.

"I am excited to showcase my work and skills that I built up over the years of working overseas and most importantly to share my passion for traditional but inventive Balinese cuisine with my team," Mr Irawan said.

Conrad Bali offers three distinguished dining outlets featuring signature beachfront restaurant Eight Degrees South, highlighted by its small tastings and organic menu dishes - as well as Suku, featuring Balinese cuisine and live performance art and Rin, a refined Japanese restaurant housed in the privacy of the Conrad Suites.
