Hokkaido Air System (HAC) has become a subsidiary of Japan Airlines.

Late last week, JAL completed a qualifying transaction to hold up to 51.2% of the shares in HAC.

The HAC network, including flights to/from remote islands such as Sapporo (Okadama) - Rishiri and Hakodate - Okushiri, is an important part of the Hokkaido transportation infrastructure.

JAL will now support HAC to improve its sales performance and further strengthen its management competence in an aim to be the preferred regional airline in Hokkaido.
