Korean Air and China Southern Now Codesharing on Seoul-Urumqi Route

Korean Air has started codesharing with China Southern Airlines on the Seoul-Urumqi route.

Korean Airs flights depart from Incheon International Airport on Tuesday and Saturday and China Southern Airlines will operate on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday, giving a choice of 5 flights a week on the route.

Urumuqi, is the capital of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region in the north west of the Peoples Republic of China and is a central developmental target for the China Western Development project that the Central Government of China is leading.

Urumqi, which means beautiful pasture in the Mongolian language, is the most remote city from any sea in the world. The city is a major hub on the historical Silk Road and has many tourist attractions, including trekking courses in Tian Shan Grand Canyon and Heaven Lake of Tian Shan, which is 6,257 feet above sea level.
