From the early days of the Laguna and Bangkok Marathons, Thailand has seen an exponential boom in marathons, triathlons, cross fit centers, cycling clubs and adventure races.

Weekend cycling trips to Khao Yai and fitness holiday camps in Phuket, are fast becoming a favourite pass time for many.

In light of this healthy lifestyle trend taking the Kingdom by storm, SALA Hospitality Group has thrown its support behind the cause in sponsoring some athletes in Thailand through the SALA Active Race Team.

The team showcased their depth of talent in 2013 with podium placings in the Laguna Marathon, the Challenge Laguna Triathlon and the Rayong Triathlon. Their success has also continued in to 2014 with first place performances in several of the years early events.

Lyndsey Fraser (Scotland) - Laguna Marathon: 2nd place. Challenge Laguna Triathlon: 1st Place. Hua Hin Triathalon: 1st place, NorthFace100 25km: 1st place.

Nick De Bouillane (France) - Laguna Marathon: 3rd place. Challenge Laguna Triathlon: 5th place. Rayong Triathlon: 2nd place. Challenge Philippines: 1st place

Ceri Ruzzi (Wales) - Laguna Marathon: 8th place. Challenge Laguna Triathlon: 7th place. Rayong Triathlon: 4th place. Hua Hin (Sprint) Triathlon: 1st place.

Andrew Ross (Canada) - Laguna Marathon: 7th place. Rayong Triathlon: 3rd place. Hua Hin Triathlon: 4th place.

In 2014, members of the team will be visiting the various SALA Hospitality Group properties to help get the staff and guests into shape with a variety of Boot Camp training workshops.

Last month saw Lyndsey Frasier put the SALA Phuket Resort and Spa's guests and executives through their paces with the first 4-day Phuket Boot Camp.

The next Boot Camp, or as Sala is calling it "Boot Camp 2.0", is scheduled from 5-8 April at SALA Phuket Resort and Spa. Lyndsey Frasier and Andrew Ross will introduce the beach workout, buddy boot camp and high intensity interval training. Advanced reservations are recommended.
