Kata Rocks, a new luxury resort in Phuket scheduled to open November 2014, has appointed Scot Toon as General Manager.

Scot is taking over the pre-opening operation of Kata Rocks, bringing with him a wealth of previous experience having spent over five years on the island opening and managing luxury resort Paresa.

Establishing his career in human resources at Hayman Island Resort in Australia, Scot then went on to further his experience in this field at the Stamford Grand in Sydney.

Scot joined Per Aquum Resorts in 2003 as director of human resources. He later went on to work across the Per Aquum portfolio as a general manager, opening Dhoni Mighili and The Fortress, helping the resort group gain international recognition.

Scot is originally from New Zealand and lives in Phuket with his wife Donna and their two boys.

“I believe Phuket is a dynamic island with so much to do and I am looking forward to working with the Kata Rocks team to launch the newest luxury resort, on this fabulous island,” Scot said.
